My Primary Source: Kimora Lee and the Rush Card
My source is a picture of Kimora Lee Simmons holding a Rush Visa Card, one her business endeavors. Her and her ex husband Russell Simmons created the prepaid debit cards for those that not generally financially stable and cannot obtain such from a financial institution. It was posted by a website called blacksnob.com on April 16, 2009. It was published by Kimora Lee Simmons on an unknown date to promote the card. The picture hoped to gain the attention of her fans and other people who aspire to obtain financial wealth. Though the picture is simply her holding the card, she is glamorized in it. Her wardrobe features a large canary yellow diamond ring and earrings the size of small pieces of hail. The message is implicit because there is not text or captions or dialogue accompanying the picture. However the picture still gets the point across that in order to be like Kimora Lee Simmons, you need a Rush Card. Fans of her and her ex husband cant help but to be intrigued to get a card in hopes to keep up with the Simmons'.People who have seen the couples multi-million dollar homes on cribs and follow her show, Life in the Fab Lane, probably aspire to live as lavishly as the Simmons or at least as closely to them within their own personal means as possible. So wearing clothes like them or just getting a Rush Card, as they claim to own themselves, make them feel like they are not so different from Kimora Lee.

I think this source is a good source towards the subject of our class warfare. Ads like these promote the entire unreal aspect that anybody can be like the rich people. But in reality they just want to make money off of you spending money. We’ve all heard stories of people getting into credit card debt or loan trouble because they spend more than they can earn back. To put things in perspective though, this ad is not telling people to do that. It’s more of a result, once people start spending and stop realizing how much they are spending because they are just swiping a card instead of pulling cold hard cash out of the back pocket. Everyone wishes to be in the Fab Lane, but very few can actually afford it.
